Max Knopf founded the M&M Knopf Company in 1948. Knopf Automotive was one of the original pioneers in core processing and recycling. In 1978, Sons Marshall and Woody took over the operation. In 2000 the M&M Knopf Company became part of the Remy International Group. Today Knopf Automotive is truly unique as we are the only fully integrated distributor which sells OE new replacement parts, export new and remanufactured parts, provide the domestic and over seas markets with a steady supply of cores and serve as a reclamation center for various materials.

Several new locations are being planned for late 2007 and early 2008. Sales locations include Flint MI, Long Island NY, Red Bank NJ, Atlanta GA and Anderson IN.
